On September 27th, the NGO Thydêwá – Brazil – will release the 20th book of the collection “Indigenous people under the sight of Indigenous people”. This time will be the first title in the collection with collaborative authoring of more than 20 women from 08 indigenous communities in the northeast of Brazil. The book is entitled: “By the Indigenous Women” double allusion, the authorship and motivation to empower women in the practice of their rights.
The indigenous women made photos and wrote about their lives, their dreams, about being indigenous woman today. The book also features an informative section on how to prevent and deal with cases of domestic violence against women. It comprises 64 pages all colored, which also feature illustrations made by the indigenous young Tupinambá girl, Irãny and Potyra Tê Tupinambá.
The release will take place in the framework of the “XIV Tupinambás Walk – In Memory of the Martyrs of River Curupe” in Tupinambás Indigenous Village Itapoã in Olivença, city of Ilhéus (BA) and will have the presence of six authors. There will be 03 Wheels Conversations for Women, performed by the protagonists of the book and the interdisciplinary team of the Secretariat of Public Policies for Women of the State Government of Bahia, which services will be available to talk and meet the demands of the public. A psychologist, two lawyers and several social workers will be on Friday the 26th at the public square of Olivença, from 14h to 17h; on 27th, Saturday from 08:30 to 11:30 and from 14h to 17 h in the Indigenous Village of Itapoã.
The book integrates the activities of the “By the Indigenous Women” project that is implementing an ongoing training on women’s rights, with indigenous women from 08 communities in the Northeast: Tupinambás, Pataxó Hãhãhãe, Pataxó Dois Irmãos, and Pataxó Barra Velha, from the state of Bahia, Xokó, from Sergipe, Kariri-Xocó and Karapotó Plaki-ô from Alagoas, and Pankararu from Pernambuco. The project is directly forming 16 Multipliers Agents of Social Transformation and want to achieve, after a year and a half of activities, 8,000 indigenous women and their families. The training takes place through meetings at the headquarters of NGOs in Olivença, and online, with the creation of a multiethnic network, the Collaborative Learning Community By Indigenous Women, available at: www.mulheresindigenas.org
The project was conceived by the NGO Thydêwá and has the protagonism of indigenous people for its redesign and rely on the partnership with the Secretariat of Public Policies for Women of the Presidency and the Secretariat of Public Policies for Women of the State of Bahia. It has also the support of the network of the Points of Indigenous Culture in the Northeast and the ontão Esperança da Terra (Hope of The Earth), initiatives supported by the Ministry of Culture.

No dia 27 de setembro, a ONG Thydêwá lançará 20° livro da coleção “Índio na Visão dos Índios”. Desta vez, será o primeiro título da coleção de autoria colaborativa entre mais de 20 mulheres pertencentes a 08 comunidades indígenas do nordeste; livro que leva o título: “Pelas Mulheres Indígenas” em alusão dupla, pela autoria e pela motivação de empoderar as mulheres na prática de seus direitos.
As mulheres indígenas fizeram fotos e escreveram sobre suas vidas, seus sonhos, sobre ser mulher indígena hoje. O livro conta também com uma Cartilha informativa sobre como prevenir e lidar com casos de violência conjugal. São 64 páginas todas coloridas, que contam também com ilustrações da jovem indígena Tupinambá, Irãny, e de Potyra Tê Tupinambá.
O lançamento ocorrerá no marco da “XIV Caminhada Tupinambá – Em Memória dos Mártires do Rio Curupe”, na Aldeia Indígena Tupinambá Itapoã, em Olivença município de Ilhéus (BA) e contará com a presença de seis autoras. Haverá 03 Rodas de Conversas para Mulheres, realizadas pelas protagonistas do livro e pela equipe interdisciplinar da Secretaria de Politicas Públicas para Mulheres do Governo do Estado da Bahia, que se disponibilizarão para dialogar e atender as demandas do público. Uma psicóloga, duas advogadas e várias assistentes sociais estarão na sexta feira dia 26 na Praça de Olivença das 14 as 17 h; e no sábado 27 das 08:30 as 11:30 e das 14 as 17 h na Aldeia Itapoã.
O livro integra as atividades do projeto “Pelas Mulheres Indígenas” que está implementando uma formação contínua sobre direito das mulheres, com mulheres indígenas de 08 comunidades do Nordeste: Tupinambá, Pataxó Hãhãhã, Pataxó Dois Irmãos e Pataxó Barra Velha, da Bahia, Xokó, de Sergipe, Kariri-xocó e Karapotó Plaki-ô de Alagoas, e Pankararu, de Pernambuco. O projeto está formando diretamente 16 Agentes Multiplicadoras de Transformação Social e pretende alcançar, ao fim de um ano e meio de atividades, 8.000 mulheres indígenas e suas famílias. A formação se dá através de encontros na sede da ONG, em Olivença, e on-line, com a criação de uma uma rede multiétnica, a Comunidade Colaborativa de Aprendizado Pelas Mulheres Indígenas, disponível em: www.mulheresindigenas.org
O projeto foi idealizado pela ONG Thydêwá e conta com o protagonismo das indígenas para seu redesenho e com a parceria da Secretaria de Políticas Públicas para Mulheres da Presidência da República e da Secretaria de Políticas Públicas para Mulheres do Estado da Bahia; e o apoio da rede de Pontos de Cultura Indígena do Nordeste e o Pontão Esperança da Terra, iniciativas apoiadas pelo Ministério da Cultura.
